DEADMAU5-21 by Matt Barnes

How was everyone’s Labor Day? Did you burn your white pants yesterday morning, or are you going to be a rebel and continue wearing the damn things through the holiday season? Who decided that was a rule anyway? Even though Labor Day marks the unofficial end of summer, I still see plenty of good times ahead. This week is looking especially tasty, with a number of local parties and multi-sensory celebrations here to keep the spirit of sunshine alive. Whether you’re into some damn good techno or tasty brews, there’s something to wet your whistle in this week’s Club Crush lineup.

1.) Midnight Magic, Lonely C & Bamboozle @ Williamsburg Music Hall (Thursday, September 6) – Crew Love homies Midnight Magic take over the neighborhood haunt this Thursday. A visit to see the self-proclaimed love children of Donna Summer and George Clinton are certain to add a little funk to your four-day work week! Even better yet, Lonely C and Bamboozle of Soul Clap will be providing the warm up. It just doesn’t get any groovier than this. Get tickets HERE.

2.) RUMORS New York @ The Brooklyn Mirage (Friday, September 7) – Guy Gerber’s world-renowned RUMORS party hits New York this Friday, and he’s bringing along some high-profile friends. Add Damian Lazarus, Lauren Lane and Kaz James to the lineup, and this just might check out as The Mirage‘s most highly anticipated techno event yet. What started as a beach party in Ibiza has become an international sensation. Since then, Mayan cenotes, secret London courtyards and other majestic locations have played host to RUMORS. The next stop on their schedule is the White House lawn… or at least that’s what we heard. Get tickets HERE.

3.) Heart Beats Presents: ill.Gates & Dorfex Bos @ The Knitting Factory (Friday, September 7) – If you’re into dubstep, psybass, drum&bass or any combo of the three, then you best be popping into The Knitting Factory this Friday. Local party promoters, Heart Beats, just keep pumping out exciting bookings, and this is our favorite yet. We’ve been fans of ill.Gates since he collaborated with Bassnectar on expanded, and his live show with KJ Sawka (of Destroid fame), was equally dope. We can’t wait to see what our friend with the crazy hair is up to these days. Get tickets HERE.

4.) Deadmau5 @ The Rooftop at Pier 17 (Saturday, September 8) – The man behind the mouse mask is back, and this time he’s showing off some upgrades. His epic new Cube 2.1 production reminds us of everything we loved about old school Deadmau5, and how he never fails to surprise us. Fans will also receive a fine introduction to mau5ville: level 1, a series of new productions and selections from his archives. Get tickets HERE.

5.) Pitchfork and October Present Octfest @ Governors Island (September 7-8) – Beer, bites and beats! Here’s something we can all enjoy. Featuring pours from more than 90 craft breweries, the second annual Octfest is sure to be one of September’s most exciting tasting events. And if the sipping lineup wasn’t impressive enough, there will also be a number of foodie-approved vendors on hand to satiate drunken munchies. Sunday’s lineup is looking particularly enticing with acts like The Flaming Lips and Nile Rodgers & Chic topping off a wonderfully versatile roster of indie favorites and musical legends. Use promo code P4K30 for 30% off tickets HERE.
