Club Crush: The Week’s Best Electronic Lineups

Soul Clap

And just like that, another month is over. Time sure does fly when you’re eating solid food and partaking in alcohol again! Sober January was a time for introspection, but it was February which fostered appreciation. Sometimes you need to take a break from indulgences to understand their unique role in your life. I’m still erring on the side of healthy eating and minimal drinking, but now when I have that cup of Prosecco, I really savor it. When I have my red meat, I’m opting for three ounces of grass-fed goodness. We could all use a lesson in moderation.

There is one staple I didn’t cut out of my life, and that’s music. February brought some really great shows to NYC, and March is looking dope as well. You don’t have to deprive yourself of dancing. It’s healthy and always in style! Determine the right “get down” dosage with this week’s Club Crush picks.

croatiasquad

1.) Croatia Squad @ Output (Friday, March 2nd) – Contrary to what his alias might lead you to believe, Alejandro Torres is actually from Switzerland. The “Croatia Squad” moniker is an homage to the location where the up and coming producer got his start. A longterm residency on the mountainous island was influential in the development of Croatia Squad’s gripping, deep house sound. This Friday, Good Looks Collective is bringing his signature Euro-beats to Output’s main room. Seattle’s Noise Complaint takeover (featuring SUBSET, of Webster Hall‘s BASSment fame and Astronomar) will offer West Coast house stylings in the Panther Room. Get tickets HERE.

2.) Excision @ Terminal 5 (Friday, March 2nd – Saturday, March 3rd) – Get ready to shake, rattle and roll when Canadian dubstep producer Excision brings his critically acclaimed stage show to midtown for two nights only. The return of The Paradox brings 150,000 watts of sound, a custom stage rig, jaw dropping visuals and the explosive performance NYC has come to anticipate from the notorious headbanger every spring. Equally dirty acts like Downlink and Liquid Stranger provide support on Friday, while Figure adds some flair to Saturday night’s lineup. Get FRIDAY tickets HERE and SATURDAY tickets HERE.

3.) Soul Clap @ Elsewhere (Saturday, March 3rd) – If it’s funk, soul or disco you’re missing, then Soul Clap’s got the remedy for you. Bushwick’s hottest new venue is the place to be when PopGun Presents brings the infamous Boston turned Brooklyn-based duo to the main room along with support from Bradley Zero and Pontchartrain. Get tickets HERE.

Camelphat_FBevent_promo

4.) CamelPhat and Will Clarke @ Schimanski NYC (Saturday, March 3rd) – Let’s play house! Britain meets Brooklyn when electronic duo CamelPhat and Dirtybird sweetheart, Will Clarke, bring their finest beats to Schimanski’s main room this Saturday. These acts will share the bill on several Miami Music Week lineups, so catch them here before seeing them under sunnier skies. Get tickets HERE.

hippiesabotage

5.) Hippie Sabotage @ Brooklyn Steel (Saturday, March 3rd) – As children, brothers Jeff and Kevin Saurer never could have predicted the sensation they would one day become. In their 10 years making music together as Hippie Sabotage, they’ve collaborated with mega pop stars like Ellie Goulding and Tove Lo, and their upcoming summer schedule boasts just about every festival under the sun. Come to Brooklyn Steel this Saturday to find out why the funky duo claimed the #1 spot on Billboard’s “Next Big Sound” chart. Get tickets HERE.
