Club Crush: The Week’s Best Electronic Lineups

MO

I’m almost there! It’s the last week of my annual cleanse, and I can happily report that dry January 2018 has been surprisingly dope. Then again, I’d hardly call my month dry with the amount of smoothies and broths I’ve slurped down. Sure, I miss chewing, but this was a small sacrifice to make considering all of the other benefits I gained from my time on the CLEAN Program. My skin is clear, the bags under my eyes are gone, I learned recipes for 8 new soups, I discovered that Output sells Perrier in a can and I didn’t require a nap before heading out to Brooklyn Steel for a bass show last Friday (a rare occurrence!) This exercise in self-control has been more than worth it.

What did you accomplish this month? We all set resolutions at the beginning of the year. Now is a good time to check back in and reward yourself for all of your hard work! Still trying to figure out a way to treat yourself? Why don’t you make plans to attend one of this week’s Club Crush picks? Whether you want to help Output celebrate another big birthday, get Puerto Rico back on its feet or experience a set that goes Above and Beyond the others, there’s plenty to keep you pampered in the hood this weekend.

1.) The MEØW Tour: MØ and Cashmere Cat @ Brooklyn Steel (Thursday, January 25 – Friday, January 26) – Danish singer-songwriter MØ and groundbreaking producer Cashmere Cat are bringing their collaboriate tour to Brooklyn Steel for a two-night stint. This high-powered pairing will Lean On a rare performance from French House artist Darius, who provides support each night. Get tickets HERE.

2.) PA’ Puerto Rico: A Night of Support and Celebration @ Ramezcla HQ, 203 Moore St. (Thursday, January 25) – Did you know that about 20 percent of Puerto Rico is still without power, making it the longest blackout in U.S. history? In other words, Puerto Rico is still very much in need of your help! The acclaimed techno duo The Martinez Brothers are teaming up with Grammy Award winning artist Louie Vega to pack your Thursday night with a party punch! Your $100 donation grants you access to this intimate affair, plus open bar compliments of The Shakedown. All proceeds go to The Maria Fund, whose efforts are focused toward getting Puerto Rico back up and running. Start your weekend early! After all, it’s for a good cause. No tickets will be sold at the door, so make your donation HERE.

3.) Laidback Luke @ Schimanski (Friday, January 26th) – Laidback Luke is back, and this time he’s keeping it strictly techno. No stranger to New York City or Schimanski’s dance floor, the Dutch producer’s eclectic talents and ability to keep things fresh has placed him in the ranks of local favorites. Wear body armor, because this night will e nothing short of slammin’. Get tickets HERE.

Jamie-Jones

4.) Output  5th Anniversary feat. Jamie Jones and Seth Troxler @ Output (Friday, January 26 – Saturday, January 27th) – Five years later, we’re still just as in love with Output as we were when they first opened their doors on 74 Wythe Street in early 2013.  Techno heavy hitters Jamie Jones (Friday) and Seth Troxler (Saturday) headline a star-studded lineup of house favorites. Visionquest’s Ryan Crosson, as well as Craig Richards and Dewalta are among those scheduled to appear at this can’t miss annual birthday bash. Get tickets HERE.

above-and-beyond

5.) Above & Beyond @ Barclays Center (Saturday, January 27th) – Touring in support of their new studio album, Common Ground, trance superstars Above & Beyond will be bringing their legendary show to Barclays Center this Saturday. If you’re in need of some serious group therapy, the trio behind Anjunabeats have you covered. And if that wasn’t enough, Andrew Bayer and Yotto will have you flying high before the headliners even hit the stage. I feel free already. Get tickets HERE.

Elsewhere

6.) Gardens Presents: MikeQ, Cinthie, DJ Heather @ Elsewhere (Saturday, January 27th) – Qweenbeat labelhead MikeQ is fixing to turn heads in with his ballroom and vogue-house beats at Elsewhere’s Zone 1, this Saturday. Meanwhile, DJ Heather celebrates a special homecoming and shares the bill along with Cinthie, DJ Jor and Phoneg1rl in the Great Hall. Let’s turn up for another deliciously underground Bushwick club night. Get tickets HERE.
