Italian progressive rock legends, Goblin, made their first ever trip to the US in 2013 and clearly enjoyed themselves as Claudio Simonetti and co are coming back to headline Irving Plaza on the 15th of July.

Best known for their horror soundtracks from the 70s, this time around they will play their Dawn of the Dead score live alongside the film.

Goblin was created by Claudio Simonetti in 1975 and have produced a wide-ranging body of work: from soundtracks for the likes of Suspiria, Tenabrae and the previously mentioned Dawn of the Dead, a rotating cast of players over the years (as well as various breakups, reformations, name changes and the like) have also laid down some complex records that horror nerds can freak out to.

For good measure, here’s the European trailer for Dawn of the Dead.

  1. Saw them on their tour…they were great. They loved being on stage and were so grateful to be playing. Should be a fun show.
