Starting this Saturday, Cherry Izakaya will add a brunch menu to their delicious slate of offerings. From their press release:
Cherry Izakaya, Williamsburg’s Japanese gastropub, will launch weekend brunch service this Saturday, May 9th, just in time for Mother’s Day. Brunch will be available from 11:30am to 4:00pm every Saturday and Sunday.
Newly appointed Chef/Partner John Keller, who helms the kitchens at Cherry Restaurants (Cherry at Dream Downtown and Cherry Izakaya) since March 2015, recently revamped Cherry Izakaya’s dinner menu and is excited to bring the same creativity and flare to brunch.
Keller’s fun and fearless approach to cooking is apparent in his brunch offerings with dishes like Buttermilk Chicken Karaage and Waffles with organic maple butter and honey tabasco; Lox Crispy Rice, a crispy rice “bagel” served with cured Nova Scotia salmon, red onion, capers, scallion and wasabi crème fraiche; Pork Belly Benedict with confit pork belly, English muffin, poached eggs, yuzu hollandaise and bonito flakes; and Breakfast Ramen with tonkotsu broth, braised pork belly and two poached eggs.
I had the pleasure of trying the Buttermilk Chicken Karaage and Waffles (pictured above) myself, as well as the tasty Carrot Soju Bloody Mary. Cherry Izakaya will be also be offering 90-minute bottomless drinks for $20. Check out their full brunch menu below:
Cherry Izakaya is located at 138 North 8th street, Brooklyn, NY. Reservations can be made by calling 347-889-6300.
