Retire those cardboard signs for a night or two and lend your local (and non-local) musicians an ear! Besides, your arms deserve a break, don’t they? So do your nerves. The good news is you can still unwind without sacrificing that fighting spirit. Round up your Muslim, women, LGBTQ, and fundamental -rights-supporting friends and head to one of the many upcoming anti-Trump, pro-Planned Parenthood, pro-ACLU, pro-immigrant benefit shows happening this month in Brooklyn.

We Support Planned Parenthood (The Graham, $20 suggested)
Join Jacuzzi Jefferson, David Kiss, AKKI, Sophia MA, Will OB, A-A-RON, and Alex Rose in fighting for the uteruses! All bar proceeds and door donations ($20 suggested) from this show will graciously be donated to Planned Parenthood. Keep an eye open for their show the following week which will benefit the ACLU. Brooklyn psychedelic folk favorites Woods and DJ Cochon de Lait will be holding it down at Sunnyvale to benefit both the ACLU and Planned Parenthood (all proceeds will go to both kickass organizations). (More info)

A Show to Benefit CAIR-NY (Council on American-Islamic Relations) (The Gateway, $12-$20)
Stand up against racism and islamophobia with Jeff Rosenstock, Ben Hopkins (of PWR BTTM), Cameron Boucher (of Sorority Noise & Old Gray), eskimeaux & more! The show will benefit CAIR-New York and raise a middle finger to Trump and his cabinet of racists. (More info)

A PPNYC Action Fund Benefit (Silent Barn, $8-20)
Another excellent showcase benefitting Planned Parenthood (featuring a speaker from Planned Parenthood of New York City Action Fund) with performances by Emily Reo, Algebra II, Rhea and DJ Molly Soda. Tattoo to Protect Your Parts (Magik City, $40)
This event is working in tandem with the show at Saint Vitus (below) which is located half a block away. Get tattooed for a cause (you’ll be able to pick your new ink from their flash sheet art) by the talented crew from Magic Cobra Tattoo Society featuring artists Woodz, Ol’ Ash, Kati Vaughn, Adam Korothy.
