BK COMES ALIVE

Last month, Brooklyn Comes Alive announced the line up for its 4th annual, one-day event, which features collaborations by world class musicians in the form of unique, supergroup jam sessions. The mini festival will take place on Saturday September 29, 2018, at three different esteemed Williamsburg venues: Brooklyn Bowl, Rough Trade, and Music Hall of Williamsburg. Throughout the day, ticket holders will have the ability to float between each venue, catching whichever acts they care to see. The festival will feature 50+ artists from various bands such as The Disco Biscuits’ Marc Brownstein, Lyle Divinsky of The Motet, members of Lettuce, Hayley Jane of Hayley Jane and the Primates, bassist Karina Rykman of the Marco Benevento trio, Shira Elias of Turkuaz, and many many more.

We met with Will Hanza, vocalist and lead guitarist of Brooklyn based, space-funk band Escaper, who will be in attendance for his 4th Brooklyn Comes Alive fest. Not having missed a single a year, Hanza says his favorite part is seeing players that don’t normally play together, come together to make some “damn fine music.” He loves how the format of the day breeds jams by some of the best improv musicians around.

The festival, which pays homage to NOLA’s Jazz Fest, will also honor some late musicians including Prince, Col Bruce Hampton, Butch Trucks, Gregg Allman and more. Starting at 2:30 pm, festival goers will be able to groove until the ripe hour of 4:30 am on Sunday, September 29, 2018. Ticket prices range from $50-$250, plus fees which also vary depending on ticket type. This is event has proven itself to be a must go year after year and we aren’t expecting anything different this time around!

More info and tickets are available here.
