ORIGINAL POST 1/18/17

Big news came last week for fans of underground scenestarters, BangOn!NYC. The legendary party crew, who have become famous for their immersive, large-scale warehouse parties (and a more recent House of Yes-based “Sessions” series), dropped an eclectic and enticing lineup for their first ever multi-day camping festival.

The first installment of Lakewood Camping Festival is being marketed as a regional offshoot of the Elements Arts and Music Festival, which has called Brooklyn home for the past two years. Despite sweltering temperatures, thousands made the trek to Red Hook last August to see sets from big names like electro-funk producer Gramatik and the blue-haired genre bender herself, Mija. Lakewood promises an even cooler vibe, as it’s set to take place over Memorial Day weekend in an unnamed location in northeast Pennsylvania.

The journey requires more than a ride on the elusive G-train, but based on their Phase 1 lineup, attendees’ efforts will be generously rewarded. The initial lineup announcement features an exciting mix of top tier and up and coming artists from a variety of genres, spanning from classic house to bass, and just about everything in between. Dirtybird Records is strongly represented with acts like label founder Claude VonStroke, and fellow DB beat makers Justin Jay and Doorly in tow. Atlanta-based producer heRobust and the prolific, live trap trio Keys N Krates top the list of Lakewood’s bass offerings. A rare appearance from British glitch innovator, Tipper, and the promise of BangOn!NYC’s authentic burner-esque fanfare, has helped to make Lakewood one of our most highly anticipated summer festivals.

Early bird tickets for the 3-day event (as well as a variety of dope camping add-ons), are currently available through Eventbrite’s website starting at $140 plus fees. Check out your options here, and start making plans to attend BangOn!NYC’s first ever camping festival. We can’t wait to see what our friends have in store!
