Mysocialist thinks they’ve uncovered where Arcade Fire will perform Friday 10/18 and Sat 10/19. Drum roll please:
We were told in a “roundabout” way, that East Williamsburg art space at 299 Meserole St. would be the location for said shows, an intimate space (relatively speaking) for the Grammy Award-winning band…We reached out to the venue to inquire as to the availability of the space for the two dates, and were informed that the space was indeed booked. We inquired if we could be involved with the shows in some capacity, as they’d be taking place during CMJ. We were told that we could not and that a “very big band” would be playing the space and that our assistance would not be required.
By now, I think anyone would be putting two and two together. We thought that perhaps we could learn something from the good folks at Arcade Fire Tube, who seem to have the inside track on this album cycle, but they either didn’t seem to know too much, or they weren’t telling us what they knew.
We then reached out to Arcade Fire’s management to see if we could get some answers, and perhaps lend a hand in getting word out about the shows when the time came to announce them. The long and the short of it is that they did not deny what we had seemingly uncovered, though they didn’t really confirm it either. We got a neutral response and a “hope to see you there.”
In other Arcade Fire news, Zach Galifianakis tells Arcade Fire:
“I went to one of your first shows and there were more people on stage then there were in the audience. You don’t need three drummers!” (14 min mark)
