Amy Schumer, Mike Birbiglia and more showed up to support Planned Parenthood at Michael Che’s benefit show in Williamsburg

secretshowLast night Michael Chea put on a benefit for Planned Parenthood at The Knitting Factory in Williamsburg. According to Michael, last Thursday tickets for the benefit went on sale at 8:01AM and were gone by 8:18AM. That made sense as it was likely Michael Che was going to bring a friend or two from SNL, but the event was even more star studded than expected. Amy Schumer, Mike Birbiglia, John Mulaney, Colin Quinn, Lena Dunham, Colin Jost and Leslie Jones all did sets. Amy Schumer was hilarious and also got into it with a few unfortunately vocal audience members, Lena Dunham told a story about meeting Donald Trump as a 12-year-old that I won’t repeat because she literally said she was afraid of being sued, and Leslie Jones completely brought the house down. Standup gods/recent Broadway success stories Mike Birbiglia and John Mulaney were amazing as well. Shoutout to John Mulaney for dropping a reference to former Williamsburg mainstay The Lovin’ Cup and comedy show The Big Terrific that almost no one in the audience appreciated. Chris Rock and Trevor Noah were also supposed to appear but unfortunately didn’t make it.

Overall it was an incredible night and for a bonus Michael Che is donating to match all ticket sales.

While we followed the no photograph rule, here’s a couple pics from people who didn’t:

@chethinks secret show for @plannedparenthood was insane. It rained condoms and knowledge and laughter. Great work for a great cause. #nofilter
