As the neighborhoods around Downtown Brooklyn continue to grow, the need for bars and restaurants in the area is rapidly increasing. Gotham Market at The Ashland is not only located in a prime location—steps away from 11 subway lines, Barclays Center, and all BAM locations—but it also features seven (yes, SEVEN) restaurants and three bars. With that much variety, we’d spend the whole damn day there. If the limitless array of cuisine and drink isn’t enticing enough, there’s tons of flat screen TV’s for sports fans, pet-friendly outdoor seating, and full-service dining options for those who want to take date night to a new level.
No matter who you are or what you fancy, the vendors inside the market have something for you. Mason Jar brings its Southern hospitality to the borough with a menu specializing in beer, bourbon, and barbecue. Boqueria’s first Brooklyn location offers guests a full-service dining experience featuring a menu of Spanish tapas such as datiles con beicon, patatas bravas, pulpo a la plancha, and for dessert, churros rellenos de nutella. John Stage, founder of the beloved Dinosaur Bar-B-Que, oversees Apizza Regionale, Flip Bird, and Bar Granger.
Apizza serves Neapolitan-style pizza with a distinctly New York flair, prepared in a custom brick oven imported directly from Southern Italy. Bar Granger is a cocktail bar featuring over 14 craft beers on draft, 14 wines by the glass or bottle and a variety of house-made cocktails. Flip Bird serves both fried chicken and spatchcocked rotisserie chicken with their Flip Bowl being a lunch-time favorite. Last, but not least, the pop-up space that Crabby Shack once occupied will soon be filled by an extra sweet Brooklyn-based vendor.
Gotham Market at the Ashland is not only the perfect hideaway for those sweltering summer days ahead of us, but a place to eat, drink, and be merry with your fellow neighbors. Join us as we experience a taste of some of NYC’s favorite local spots all in the convenience of one venue.
