2015 Kentucky Derby parties in Brooklyn – where to watch the Derby

It’s that time of year again. Let’s drink mint juleps, wear gaudy hats, and put on our best pastel suits and dresses.  The 141st Kentucky Derby is coming this Saturday, May 2!

IN WILLIAMSBURG

Maison Premiere
From 2-8pm, live music, a radio broadcast of the race, mint juleps

Mable’s Smokehouse
Old Forester mint juleps will be $7 a pop and they will be broadcasting the races. It all begins at 3:00 p.m.

Billet & Bellows
A viewing party with $8 Mint or Peach Juleps and bluegrass and jazz by Jazzingaro
177 Grand St, Brooklyn, NY 11211, FREE

Humboldt & Jackson
They will be airing the race and there will be free cheese, charcuterie, and live bluegrass with a prize awarded to the best dressed customer. Begins at 5pm

Pete’s Candy Store
Ribs, mint juleps, pecan pie, a ladies millinery contest, wagers and of course a viewing of the race.

South 4th Bar and Cafe
From 3-8pm. At 4pm they will have coverage of the 141st running of the first leg of the triple crown. (Race time is about 6:15) With $7 mint juleps, and bar tab gifts for the best dressed. FREE

Kentucky Derby + Mayweather/Pacquiao showing at all Randolphs this Saturday! Big 8ft movie screens, 52″ flat screens and even itsy bitsy 80’s baby screens!

The Moonlight Mile
With mint juleps and prizes for best hat for the ladies and best derby outfit for the guys.

Greenwood Park
Likely Kings County’s biggest bash, the Brooklyn Derby returns to Greenwood Park with over 600 racing enthusiasts dancing to live tunes from Park Slope’s alt-country five-some the DeLorean Sisters and Dandy Wellington and His Band, which plays ’30s and ’40s jazz tunes.

Berg’n
Berg’n, the new mega beer hall in Crown Heights, makes its Derby day debut with a costume contest, $5 Sixpoint Brewery drafts, slushie mint juleps, and Derby food specials. Sixpoint will also release its new German gose Jammer at the bash.

Putnam’s Pub and Cooker
The Junior League, a Brooklyn Heights’ women’s volunteer organization, is posting up at Putnam’s Pub and Cooker in Fort Greene for a mad-hatter-themed part y. There will be prizes for the best hats and outfits, raffles, and free finger food. Entry is $55 at the door and there’s a cash bar. But, a portion of the proceeds supports league programs.
